I was born in 1980 in Ankara.
I am graduated from Erciyes University Japanese Language and Literature Department in 2003. For three and a half years I strived to find a good job relevant to my profession which will satisfy me both mentally and economically. In the meantime, I worked in Hüseyin Güllü Ceylan Primary School as a substitute Turkish teacher in Ankara. Again in Ankara I worked as Public Relations Manager, testing and study hall officer in Orange Language Club. Moreover, I took the necessary examinations in order to be a member of the state police force but unfortunately I failed. Although it was really fun to get this kind of experience they were completely irrelevant to my profession. In the end of this three years struggle, I began to work in Japan International Cooperation Agency as Senior Volunteer Program Officer and translator. After a while I realized that it was not the job I dreamed of and took a radical decision. I decided to get the university entrance exams once more and become an English Teacher since it was the dream of my childhood and I succeeded. I began to get the professional education of ELT in Başkent University Ankara. Then I passed to Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University which was cheaper in price. This year my dream came into reality. I became an English Language and Japanese Teacher in Evrensel College. In addition to this, I am giving private English and Japanese courses, and going on making academic and personal translations.
Including the most stressful periods of my life I never gave up my love of theater, opera, bale, cinema, and pictorial art. And, music. It always took the biggest portion. I experienced the great pleasure of singing correctly and joyfully first in my secondary school years while I was receiving private voice training courses. Then I went on with the education that I took in TRT Polyphonic Chorus between the years 2004 and 2007. Saying that I am nested with music will not be wrong.
Books; my faithful old friends were in every step of my life. I believe they will be in the future too. Kayıp Dünya – the e-journal of science fiction, fantastic literature and mythology on the other hand, came into my life in the most special and wonderful part of it. It is a great pleasure and happiness for me to work as one of the story writers of this kind of a journal which has been published with heart and soul for years.
Now I am married to Altuğ GÜRKAYNAK and living in Ankara.
